The Gardens of Remembrance began as a conversation between Nicholas Agneta AIA, Barry Industrial Designer Berger and Architect Barry Silberstang, about entering a competition for the Suffolk County 911 Victims Memorial, Armed Forces Plaza, Hauppauge NY. Within a day the idea was formed and the presentation complete a day or two later.

 

The "inaccessible" Garden of Remberance is seperated from the accessible garden by a wall of glass panels, each displaying the name of a Suffolk County resident who lost their lives on 911.

 

Silberstang Architects was awarded the contract to execute the construction documents for our winning entry.
